Tamblyn has been teaching yoga since 2003 and has a Level 3 Senior registration with Yoga Australia (The highest level available in Australia) making him one of the most experienced Hot Yoga and Vinyasa practitioners in Melbourne. He has studied extensively in Australia and abroad with many senior teachers including Shiva Rea, Danny Paradise, Simon Borg-Olivier & Baron Baptiste.
As a teacher trainer he started his journey by supporting Lance Schuler and Philipp Lemke in Shanghai, China with their INSPYA Level 1 & 2 200 Hour and Level 3 300 hour trainings in 2013 & 2014.
He has been a founding member of Yoga Flame’s Teacher Training staff since 2015.
Tamblyns vast theatrical resume as an actor allows him to share a deep knowledge of voice and presence in being heard as a yoga teacher. This experience is evident as he encourages trainees to express themselves beyond more than just the format of running a safe and insightful yoga class. Tamblyns studies in physiotherapy give him an acute anatomical understanding of the physical practice. His Vedanta training in Kerala, India in 2005 supports his passion and respect for the philosophy and traditions across all streams of yoga. Tamblyn is also a children’s yoga teacher trainer, a Thai-massage therapist, an avid hiker and he is the voice behind the Smiling Mind meditation app.
“Look To This Day” is a poem by classical Sanskrit writer, Kalidasa, which continues to inspire him to share the experience and gifts that yoga has provided him.
