Learn to Fly with Cecily

A three week arm balance intensive

Join Cecily for this high energy arm balance workshop series where you will build your confidence, face your fears and defy gravity combining strength and prep work with plenty of time to play on the ground and in the air!
Each workshop is designed to build upon the prior one so signing up for all three is recommended but not required.



Week 1 September 9th 12 – 2pm

Create a solid foundation before flight
This workshop will build the fundamental foundational strength required to balance on your hands.  Expect wrist, shoulder and core drills that stretch and strengthen, helping you grow your arm balance practice. We will breakdown foundational arm balances practiced most frequently in yoga classes such as crow, one legged crow and flying pigeon.


Week 2 September 16th 12 – 2pm

Spread your wings
We will begin to explore more challenging arm balances.  Overcome your fears of flying and build your confidence as learn the techniques needed to successfully find your balance.  We will predominantly be working towards arm balances with twists, parsva bakasana and dragonfly as well as a split-legged arm balance, eka pada koundinyasana II. Using a strap and two blocks, prime your body with postures that activate your wrists, arms, hamstrings, thighs and core.


Week 3 September 23rd  12 – 2pm

Time to soar
This workshop is designed to teach you how to move, flow and transition within your arm balances and inversions.  Challenge your body and focus your mind with a fiery flow that incorporates the arm balances you’ve learned throughout the series. Practice bakasana, eka pada koundinyasana II and parsva bakasana plus a whole lot more. This is your time to go for it!

Having practised yoga since 2002, Cecily began teaching in 2007. After completing her training with the esteemed YogaWorks in the U.S., Cecily went on to study Prana Flow with Shiva Rea, Fluid Vinyasa with Twee Merrigan and Prenatal Yoga with renowned instructor Janice Clarfield. A self confessed ‘workshop junkie” Cecily has studied extensively with many of the worlds best teachers and brings a rich and deep knowledge base to her teachings.

Cecily leads classes and workshops at Yoga Flame and is an essential part of Yoga Flame’s Teacher Training Faculty. A passionate and inspiring Senior teacher, Cecily thrives on sharing her love of  yoga with others.
