Yoga’s Next Wave – The Path of Knowledge. Understanding Happiness

Saturday 19th May | 12pm – 3pm

As much as yoga offers enormous physical benefits, the true secret in yoga lies in the Upanishads which goes way beyond the modern cocktail of yoga today. Just like tasting a mango for the first time bursts your brain, leaving you spellbound, once you find out yogas’ secret you can’t get enough.

Commit to beginning the timeless journey with us into the deeper meaning and understanding of your true Self

12 – 1.30pm Pranayama and Ishta-Mala practice with Rachel

1.30- 3pm Self knowledge with John –  What is Happiness? Self-Awakening? What is the difference between a yoga practice and Self Realisation? Understanding the true nature of happiness is like being on ecstasy 24/7. For any yogi the Bliss is non-stop. Called SATCHITANANDA  – the bliss – ecstasy – of yoga is permanent.

Just as the wave in the ocean is inseparably part of ocean so you are inseparable from happiness. Until we learn this through the teachings of Self-knowledge – We just don’t know it!

‘Rachel and John offer a unique combination of yoga taught from the very highest levels of the practice and offer an understanding which is nothing less than the deepest insight into the absolute happiness that is the Self.

While Rachel brings alive a precise and penetrating knowledge of the spirit, science and subtleties of yoga and Ayurveda, John offers a transformative illumination into Self-knowledge, as available only from one who has spent many years in an ancient teaching lineage. In a world awash with trendy yogas and pseudo-spirituality, Rachel and John offer a priceless immersion into the real deal.’

About John

Describing himself as a vagabond, rogue and rascal, John Weddepohl (Siddharthan) is one of few English speakers teaching Self Knowledge. Joining two of India’s time honored traditions dating back to India’s great revivalist Adi Shankara and great Guru Boghanathar Siddha one of the 18 Tamil Siddhas mandated by his masters to go out and teach John has been traveling with the knowledge and sharing ever since.

A Self Knowledge teacher uses a unique teaching methodology (अध्यारोप अपवाद adhyaropa apavada) to break open the timeless secret of the Self, Atman hidden in the Upanishadic scripture (शास्त्र sastra). Known as knowledge that is not available from any other source, (अनधिगत anadhigata) and knowledge that is never subject to cancelation (अबाधितabhadita), the teachings of Self Knowledge (आत्मा ज्ञानम् Atma Gnanam) have been breaking the barriers of time uplifting humanity and resolving the problem of human suffering in India for countless generations.

John teaches the philosophy component on the Ishta System Mentorship Teacher Training, the Yoga Synergy teacher training with Simon Borg Olivier and Bianca Machliss and for Air Yoga in Munich. He has been featured on the Bali Spirit Festival, The Byron Spirit Retreat, The Berlin Yoga Festival, Bhakti Yoga Summer and taught workshops and retreats in India, Bali, Japan, Europe, South Africa and Australia since 2010.
